Here we have my beloved Russian rat snake (scabbers!). I’ve purchased this snake just under 2 years ago from a reputable reptile shop (slitherin reptiles) but recent changes to my lifestyle has forced me have to look at rehoming.
The snake is currently unsexed so unsure weather male or female. I'm also unsure on age, but the rate on how much they shed (once every 4-6 weeks) indicates they are still young. Sheds always go smoothly with a complete shed after every malt. Last shed measures 4ft 9”. They feed on 1 large mouse every week with no issues whatsoever.
Being a Russian rat they are also active during the day, the majority of the time enjoy climbing high through the vines. Hes a a very inquisitive snakes always pops his head up & interactive whenever I come close enclosure. Never shown any real signs of high aggression but does get a little excitable when it’s feeding day, as you could expect.
The bio-active vivarium comes complete with:
•heat lamp + guard
•LED light
•rocks + wood + vines
•hides
•water bowl
•live plants (pothos)
The inside of the enclosure was designed & made by myself with use of cork bark & moss to really give it that natural look with plenty of climbing places & hides ground level & above to give this snake the best home possible. I also had to drill a hole in the side of the bottom of the cabinet to allow for a plug, I will attach the photo.
